We have a team of fully trained sample collectors, ready to collect your drug and/or alcohol samples from your place of work or any safe environment.
Why Test for Drugs & Alcohol?
The Air Navigation Order 2000, made under the Civil Aviation Act (1982), stipulates that it is ‘an offence for a crew member of an aircraft, an air traffic controller, or a licence maintenance engineer to be under the influence of drink or drugs so as to impair his capacity to carry out his aviation-related functions’. Airline operators, therefore, have good cause to implement a strict drug and alcohol testing policy.
Aviation Law Stipulates
Under Aviation Law the following is prohibited under the Civil Aviation Publication 19.
- The reporting to work under the influence of alcohol, that is, with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.02%.
- The consumption of alcohol less than 8 hours prior to the specified reporting time at the workplace.
- The reporting to work in any safety-critical area under the influence of any prescription or non-prescription medication or drug, unless the person is completely sure that the medication or treatment will not have any adverse effect on their ability to safely perform their duties.
